New AUDI E7X Electric SUV Revealed: 500 kW Power & 700 km Range

Audi’s dedicated sub-brand for China, simply named “AUDI,” has unveiled its second model. The massive E7X electric SUV features SAIC technology, 500 kW of power, and a potential future in the European market.
Audi is rewriting its strategy in China with a bold move: a new sub-brand that drops the iconic four rings in favor of a capitalized “AUDI” logo. Following the production start of the E5 Sportback in August, the brand has now revealed the production version of its second model, the AUDI E7X.
Revealed as a concept at the Auto Guangzhou show in November, the E7X has already appeared in official homologation filings by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). This rapid transition from concept to production highlights the incredible speed of the Chinese automotive sector compared to traditional German timelines.
Massive Dimensions and Design
The AUDI E7X is a substantial vehicle, positioning itself as a major competitor in the luxury electric SUV segment. According to the official data, the SUV features a sleek design without the traditional Audi rings, opting for a futuristic aesthetic.
Official Dimensions:
- Length: 5,050 mm
- Width: 2,000 mm
- Height: 1,710 mm
- Wheelbase: 3,030 mm
- Weight: 2,673 kg (AWD version)
The vehicle will offer massive 21 or 22-inch wheel options and sits on a platform developed in partnership with SAIC.
Performance: 500 kW of Power

The E7X is not just big; it is incredibly powerful. Utilizing motors supplied by Huayu Automotive (a subsidiary of SAIC), the SUV will be available in two powertrain configurations:
- Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD): A single motor producing 300 kW.
- All-Wheel Drive (AWD): Adds a 200 kW front motor to the 300 kW rear motor, delivering a combined output of 500 kW.
The top speed is electronically limited to 230 km/h.
Battery, Range, and 800V Architecture
While the official homologation filings did not specify the exact battery capacity, data shared during the Auto Guangzhou reveal suggests the E7X will feature a 109 kWh ternary lithium battery manufactured by CATL.
- Range: Estimated to exceed 700 km (under the CLTC cycle).
- Charging: Built on an 800-volt architecture, the E7X supports ultra-fast charging, capable of adding 320 km of range in just 10 minutes.
High-Tech Features
The E7X is packed with advanced driving technologies. The exterior features a prominent Lidar unit mounted above the windshield, signaling advanced autonomous driving capabilities. Additionally, buyers can choose between classic side mirrors or aerodynamic video-based digital mirrors.
Will the AUDI E7X Come to Europe?

Currently, the “AUDI” sub-brand is exclusive to China, produced at the SAIC-VW factory in Anting, Shanghai. However, rumors are intensifying that this model could reach global markets.
According to CarNewsChina, Audi is seriously considering exporting the E7X to Europe. This speculation is supported by the fact that the Volkswagen Group has recently trademarked the “E7X” name in the European Union.
While the VW Group has historically been cautious about importing China-made vehicles to Europe (with the Cupra Tavascan being a rare exception), the competitive specs of the E7X could make it a strong contender in the global luxury EV market.
